Choosing the Right Van for Conversion

Before embarking on your campervan conversion journey with us, it’s crucial to select the right base vehicle. Each of the models we offer are popular base vehicles:

Renault Trafic
Vauxhall Vivaro
Ford Transit
Custom VW Transporter

Each of these brand name vehicles brings its own set of advantages and considerations.

Brand new Renault Trafic campervan

Pros: Choose your van spec, colour, auto or manual gearbox, tailgate etc. Latest model with modern appearance, new cab interior, LED headlights and advanced safety features. Benefit from the 3 years manufacturer warranty. Slightly better suited to conversion than a Transit or Transporter due to the internal dimensions.

Cons: Higher upfront cost.

Converting your own supplied base van

Pros: You may already own a suitable van. Potential to lower overall cost.

Each model has its unique characteristics, so choose the one that aligns with your preferences, budget, and intended use.

Key Steps in the Lomond Campers Campervan Conversion Journey

Fitting the pop top roof

One of the most important parts of our campervans is the pop-top roof- giving ample headroom by day and a large bed by night, these are a must-have in any campervan conversion.

Insulating and sound-deadening

To keep the noise down and the temperature up, we fit a combination of sound proofing and insulation to our conversions. Keeping them quiet to drive on the road and warm when parked up at night
